Tales From The Glass Guarded World Review

Family Friendly Rating: ★★★★☆

Game System: D&D 5e

Release Schedule: weekly releases but sometimes soundtracks are released Instead of episodes.

Average Run Time. 47 mins

Group/Cast Size: currently 4 players and 1 DM plus possible guest players.

Began Jan 6 2018 What Makes it unique: The name "Tales From The Glass Guarded World" Already Gives you a bit of an Idea of what is unique but what exactly does Glass Guarded mean? well it the Idea that the entire world is inside a dome of glass unique right? In addition this podcast features it's own Spelljammer combat system before Spelljammer 5e has come out. Story Continuity: Each Season the story takes a Major shift in direction but the end of each season is well tied up with just enough plot hooks for the players to continue Sound Quality & Quality Improvement: As The Players get better and better at using a Mic the sound quality Improves but from the very start editing is very professional.

Music and Sound Effects Their is decent music from the very start though as most podcasts goes it gets better and better as time goes on, Mike the DM makes custom soundtracks for the episodes and sometime releases just the soundtrack as a separate episode.

Voice Distinctiveness: (good in later episodes) though two of the first players' voices are slightly more difficult to tell apart. Bonus Content: Soundtracks and a few bonus one shots which take place in the world and are, at least sometimes cannon but have no relevance to the main story.

Rules Understanding: The Players have a somewhat understanding of the rules if a mistake happens at some point there tends to be a DM note, where the Dungeon Master explains what rule was broken and what the result was.

Criticism Space To Improve: Patreon or at least a Ko-fi Mike!

Social Connectivity Ease of Access: very responsive discord, not particularly quick response on twitter though it's not bad and likely Instagram and Facebook are similar. Explanation of Rating: Though Personally I cannot figure out why people both on and off the cast Frequently claim that TFTGGW is not completely family friendly, while it is true the battles have lots of description I don't believe they ever describe something that you wouldn't want to have your kids listen to.
